HID-556 installation instructions
Installing the new HID bulb:
" Remove the factory bulbs from headlight housing by
twisting ¼ turn and pulling outward, unplug bulb from wire
harness and store for possible future use. Install new
Vision "X" HID bulb being careful not to touch the glass
part of the bulb, if you do please wipe clean with an
alcohol solution.
Installing the new Vision "X" HID Starter Ballasts:
" Remove front truck area hood, place one starter ballast
(with connectors facing upwards) in each lower corner of the
trunk space area (don't not use mounting 3M tape yet). Drill
a 7/8" hole through plastic truck area in the upper left and
right hand side of inner trunk area so both the power and
output wire can fit through.
Wiring up the lights and ballast:
" Feed the 2 power and ground wires through trunk opening
one at a time, and plug into bulb at the back of headlight
housing. Take the supplied 10" wire harness and plug one end
into the factory wire harness (for power) and feed the other
end through the 7/8" hole and plug into the Vision X HID
Ballast. After the power wire and bulb are connected start
the vehical and make sure they light up.
Mounting the Ballast:
" Remove the protective paper from both sides of the 3M pad
and stick to the bottom of the ballast and place in the
trunk area (make sure the area is clean). Use the supplied
zip ties to tie up any extra length that might interfere
with any moving parts. The trunk area is not sealed from the
factory but if you choose you can seal up the 7/8" opening
with silicone, the weathers will not affect our Vision X
parts.
" Again this application has multiple vehicles it can fit so
please be patient and allow approximately 1-2 hrs to
install.
" Before using wire ties please start vehicle and test, if
lights don't turn on check power lead(oval) into ballast to
make sure it's not installed upside down (180 degrees out).
If lights flicker or blow factory fuse and then turn off,
you will need to use Vision X relay harness. If it's not in
box please call Vision X (800) 994-4460 this is N/C. The
flicker or fuse popping can be caused by lack of power or a
tired battery, the relay harness is N/C and will fix this.
" After you get the lights to work, tie up all loose wires
and enjoy!
